ER

Kiah just kept throwing-up today. She just couldn't stop.... so we took her to the ER. We decided to go to the hospital that was closer... big mistake... we should have made the drive to the Children's Hospital. They just aren't used to dealing with children. They tried to do a catheter but could not get it in. Kiah was scream. I think the adrenalin stopped her puking.

Steppin' out

Kiah took her first step today. I tried to ge ther to repeat the performance, but it was a no go. I was home alone with her. We are actually visiting with Aunt Julie... so Chris isn't even here.

First word

Kiah said her first word today. She actually said more than one. I was very surprised.

She said "dat" = cat

later that day she said "gog" for dog then even later she said "ah-ah" for uh-oh.

9 months

I know we are a bit late on this, but with her being sick we waited a bit.
She was 26.5 in and weighs 17 lbs 12 oz (25%) So glad to see her at a much healthier weight.

Penicillin Allergy

We found out Kiah was allergic to penicillin so we had to take her off of it and switch to a different antibiotic. The doctor also gave her a prescription for an inhaler (with spacer) and some liquid steroids for her cough and congestion.

Ear infection

The meds didn't clear it up so she is going on Augmentin for 10 days

I'm sick!

Kiah has a cold and ear infection. She has 5 days on antibiotics and ear drops. We are also supposed o use baby Robitussin.

Sleeping

Kiah slept through the night for the first time in mid September of last year... but she has been doing it regularly now for about 2 weeks. SO exciting!

Pull-up

Kiah pulled herself to a stand in her crib today. I guess we have to lower the mattress again. She can't even sit-up yet!

Kiah flipped her tongue over today. It is an ability she got from Chris... cuz I sure can't do it

Kiah can balance herself when put into a sitting position

Weight Check

9 lbs 11 oz... that is one ounce less than back in December and it was on the same scale. The doctor wants us to start formula. I am ok with it since I don't seem to be producing milk anyway. I am ready for it to be over.

When I gave her formula she drank half an ounce and fell deeply asleep. I have not see her sleep so deeply after eating. I felt so bad for starving her for so long.

Blessing

Kiah's Baby Blessing was today. It was so stressful. We waited to bless her when we cam to Utah fp Chris' parents could be there... so it was hard planning in someone else's ward. Then some of the people Chris had asked to help didn't show up and most everyone showed up late. Kiah screamed through most of it. She doesn't like to lay back. I think it has to do with her failure to thrive.
